American Verse Project - this University of Michigan site is an electronic archive of American poetry written prior to 1920.  You can search by keyword or a combination of keywords.  Your search can also be limited to selected works in the collection.

Baseball Almanac - a web site dedicated to baseball which provides poetry and songs related to the sport.

Edward Lear Home Page - Marco Graziosi has created a web site devoted to Edward Lear.  You can find his nonsense poetry and information about the poet.

Find a Poem - Founded in 1934 to support American poets in their careers and to increase appreciation of poetry, the Academy of American Poets offers a collection of over twelve hundred poems which can be searched by keyword, title, and first line.

Giggle Poetry - Children's poet, Bruce Lansky has an awarding winning  fun web site.  You can read his humorous poems in either School Poems or Favorite Poems.  Rate 'em lets you read new poems and give your opinion.  The Poetry Fun section offers poetry theater and fill-in-the-blank poems.

Grandpa Tucker's Poems for Kids -  Bob Tucker of Grandpa Tucker's Rhymes and Tales web site has a great collection of funny poems.

HAIKU for PEOPLE    What is Haiku?  - A basic definition of the Japanese poetry form of Haiku with information on how to write haiku and  examples from famous authors.

KidzPage - this site contains the humorous verse of Ogden Nash as well as a few other poems for children.  Use either Have a bash with Ogden Nash, For Better or Verse or Verse and Worse!

The Poetry Archives - provides a search engine to a collection of over 5048 poems by 153 authors. There is a search box to enter keywords and a list of pets.  You will have better results with more traditional keywords such as friendship than with terms such as basketball or sports.

Poetry by Nicholas Gordon - this is a site over 500 poems written by Nicholas Gordon, a retired English professor.  The poems are listed alphabetically and by subjects such as friendship, graduation, love, thank you, and Father's Day.

Poetry for Kids - from Mrs. Mitchell's Virtual School created by Kathi Mitchell, a New Hampshire teacher. This site explains several different types of poems with an example of each type and links to sites with additional information or examples.
